What’s a cute homemade gift I can make for my 17 yr old friend?
We did secret santa and i got my best friend. our limit is $50 and i already went over, i got a personalized picture frame and a vera bradley bag. i want to make something cute for her i was thinking a recipe in a jar or something? those are cute.

You can make her a CD with some of her favorite songs. There may be some that she doesn’t already have and there may be some that have those make you laugh memories. I know when I was 17 my friends and I had a bunch of songs that would make us laugh because it reminded us of a fun time we had.

I am baking a variety of different cookies to put in tins for the holidays for family members, friends, and coworkers. I would like to label the cookies in some way, I don’t think that I need to list all the ingredients i used, since i have already check for these peoples allergies. But I would like to label them somehow. Like when you get a box of chocolates and under them is what flavor they are, something like that but maybe little tabs or something…ideas please!

well, its raining and quite gloomy..my girl suggested making some sugar cookies and gingerbread men. we got the eggnog with rum and the television on in the kitchen..ready to go. i bought a pair of metel tree ornaments that look like cookie cutters..they hang from a plaid ribbon and bought them as one looks like a candycane with a ribbon the other a box with ribbon…..in small letters it said do not use with food.[CHINA]. im not going to bake with it. only cut out dough..my girl says noway!..i say…were not baking with it!….i know lead….what product in china does not have a lead content. i’m gunho on using these cutters….i was going to wash and rinse well…guests are only going to eat a cookie or two….except me!..my girl says shes going to tell everyone the cutters are tainted. please give your advice.ps.no offense..it does not have the made in china smell..you know the smell.

You’ll be ok this one time. I would do it. There may not be any lead in them, you’re assuming. Even so, this one time you’ll be alright. I wouldn’t scrub them too hard in case there is lead.

We have shortbread, and thumbprint cookies, rice krispie…objects LOL, chocolate covered things…

They could use green food dye, and make shortbread Christmas trees, cinnamon applesauce ornaments (there’s a link to the recipe in the source), gingerbread men, and if they’re old enough, you can try making cookies with a little hole in the middle, and putting a hard candy inside, which melts and looks really pretty.
