my dad’s birthday is coming in about 2 weeks time. I’m already baking him a banana spice cake and giving him a card. I’m not too sure what to actually get him though. I gave him a T-shirt last year. I’ve got a budget of $85(singapore). I’m only fourteen so that’s all I’ve got saved up.

You get in magazines the “The daily diet of Joe Bloggs” so I was wondering what yours was.
Mine is usually something like this:
Breakfast: Toast with low-fat spread, cup of tea. Sometimes a banana. Sometimes orange/apple juice.
Lunch: Either something like baked beans on toast or a sandwich of chicken salad/tuna/similar. Packet of crisps. Might have a Diet coke or another cup of tea.
Dinner: Usually some sort of tomato-y pasta dish. Usually it’s one of my boyfriend’s concoctions. It’s usually tomato sauce with some sort of meat and veggies. I love sweetcorn and cherry tomatoes. Might have ice cream afterwards.
Don’t snack much but when I do it’s usually rice cakes with Philadelphia. Yum yum.
I’m pregnant at the moment so my typical food is a little more than yours.
Breakfast: Oatmeal, a banana, a cup of coffee
Snack: Crackers with peanut butter
Lunch: A salad with vinegarette dressing, croutons, bacon bits, eggs and a glass of water
Snack: an apple
Dinner: I usually cook something for the whole family. A pasta like chicken alfredo or spaghetti with meatballs, or grilled chicken breasts with veggies and mashed potatoes.
Sometimes I’ll bake a desert that we have after dinner like a cherry cobbler or a double layer cake, but I avoid that now, cuz I’m trying to keep my weight gain under control.

It all begins when the tummy-rumble-inducing book the tape takes its title from is dusted off from its attic-dwelling days. First, it “alakazams” Jean, the ingredient-providing Julia Child of genies, onto Sesame Street for a primer on churning out a cham…
i want to bake healthier, and it kind of depresses me when i see recipes that require a cup of butter and a cup of sugar along with it. i’d been looking for recipes that bake with applesauce, but couldn;t find much, so if you know any good websites and offer nutritious or low fat/sugar content, please tell me!
here are a few i have come across….

These simple devices (why didn’t I think of that!) create pretty, as-easy-as-pie pastries. On one side of a press is a beveled edge for cutting rounds from rolled-out dough. Turn the press over, place the dough round on the sealing “teeth,” and pat it into the concave form. Spoon filling into the center, moisten the edges of the round for a proper seal, fold the press, and–bingo!–out comes a uni…
