Is there a hockey skate manufacturer that uses wider TOE BOX than normal?
Seems Bauer, Nike, CCM, RBK, adult skates all have the same toe box, regardless of size. Otherwise, does anyone still make a leather skate that can be stretched out? The stores stretching machines can’t stretch the toe box. I can’t find a skate wide enough. The EE skates are not wider where I need it – in the toe box. Baking won’t change the toe box. Neither does wearing them in the bathtub. Is there an option other than having a custom boot made?
Have you tried on RBK or CCM EE widths? The lasts on those 2 brands are wider than nikebauer, Easton or Graf (they fit like a EEE of these brands), so you may have better luck there.
Otherwise, as you noted, a custom boot with a 1/2 or full size larger toe cap might do the trick.
