Baking chocolate chip cookies…?
Okay, on the show (Everyday Italian… FoodNetwork) Giada made chocolate chip cookies. They turned out big and good looking. When I did it.. they turned out like every other cookie I make: Small and un appetizing… (althought they tast good)… why can’t I have the same flavour and LOOK as the cookies on tv? does it have anything to do with baking soda or powder?
You have to remember it’s tv and tv utilizes food stylists to make the food made look better. They also have a tendency to pick out the best looking items and that’s what they put on display for tv.
For your cookies though, have you tried maybe using an ice cream scoop to scoop out the dough. This will yield you a bigger cookie. Also if your baking powder is old, it may not be as effective and if the cookie mixture is too warm it actually can come out flatter because the butter is too soft.
